I am going to ambitiously begin DMing a DnD 4e game on Wednesday. I have two players and I am going to do a test run with the module provided in the Red Box. If all goes well this will become a regular thing.

…is what I was singing to myself as I ate my nasty ass sandwich at work today. I’m not exactly dieting, but I am trying to eat a bit healthier.
I don’t like it very much.
So the other day I was playing with my DnD group and we began discussing what effects my buddy’s Dragonborn Ranger’s acid breath attach might have. Sure, the guys lose hit points, but what exactly is ‘acid damage’? Is it the same as a burn?
My younger brother, who was sitting in and rolling my dice for me that day (He wanted to see what DnD is all about and I gave him the dice to keep him involved in things.) suggested that acid damage would damage items, such as weapons, maps, clothes…
…our DM told us that this would mean the characters would be attacking au natural, with no weapons bonuses, this gradually devolved into some pretty immature humor.
Brother: I attack with my Claymore! It’s a two-handed weapon.
Me: You mean short sword, no! Dagger!
Brother: …
Me: Still, I’d rather see that coming at me than your mom’s big, floppy Bag of Holding…+1!!
It was, at the time, hilarious…totally side-splitting, but I think it loses something in the retelling.
